4th of July weekend/Jake's 1st birthday

It is hard to believe that a year ago from this weekend is when Jacob entered our lives. Time goes by so fast! It is hard to imagine life before him and we are so blessed to have such a great addition to our family. We had a friend/family birthday party at our house. It was a jungle theme. Jacob was a little overwhelmed with the people and commotion but we made some good memories. Steve's family came for a visit to help us celebrate the holiday and Jacob's birthday. We then went to the Rivera's house for their 4th of July party. Even with the rain it was a great time!

Love this picture of Kelsey!

Father's Day

This is Steve's first Father's Day so Jacob and I wanted to make it special. We woke up early (actually Jacob wakes up early every day) and went and got Steve his favorite breakfast...biscuits and gravy. We then came home and got his gifts and food out, then woke him up.

Rise and shine!

After breakfast we packed up and meet the family at Bass Lake. It was a really nice day! The weather was great and the food was delicious. The kids enjoyed spending time in the lake.

Jacob's First Hair Cut

Jacob got his first hair cut last week. He looks like a little boy now! My mom came with me and we took Jacob to Jessica's hair salon. Jacob did well for the most part. He had a hard time staying still after a little while but hung in there. Enjoy the picture below...

Putting the cape on. He wasn't a huge fan of this.

Here we go!

What is going on here?

Thanks grandma for coming!

Thanks auntie Jess for doing my hair!!

Wisconsin Dells Trip 2009

Steve, Jacob, and I along with the Mason Family went on a family vacation to Wisconsin Dells. We stayed at the Atlantis Resort where there was an indoor water park for kids. It was perfect for the kids. Kelsey loved the water slides, Addie loved walking and splashing in the water, and Jacob liked floating in his crab inter tub. We also spent our time going to Mount Olympus which was a huge indoor/outdoor water park and theme park. The only bad thing about this place was the water was freezing and while we were doing the lazy river, Steve noticed his cell phone in the pocket of his swim trunks. Needless to say his phone is now dead. One day we went to the deer park where you could feed the deer. Lots of deer would just walk up to you to be fed. This was really neat. We also went on a duck boat ride which took us through really scenic spots of Wisconsin. We all had a good time but were ready to come home after a few days of screaming kids and no sleep!

Indy 500 Trip 2009

Every May Steve's dad gets tickets for the Indy 500 race and a big group of us go. This year was a bit different. Bud and Eileen stayed back with Cheryl, Missy, and Sam, while watching Jacob for the day. Jacob loved his time with his grandparents and auntie, and cousins. Steve and I went to the race with his Uncle Brian, Aunt Penny, and Peg and Dick, who are friends of the family. We met up with Ariel and Haley and Logan. Ariel got hospitality tickets so we were able to eat and drink all day for free! We all had a great time. The weather was great! Steve and I spend the rest of the weekend with his family.

Here we are sitting at our seats during the race. It was a hot one!

Richard Petty was at our tent. He took a picture with all the kids and signed some tickets.

Mother's Day/Haley's 8th Birthday

We have lots of moms in our family plus it was Haley's birthday so we had LOTS to celebrate!! To top it all off, Grandma Joyce is back from Florida. It is so nice having her home again. Needless to say it was a very "full" family day. We gathered at my mom and dad's house. My dad grilled some chicken and sausage on the grill and my mom prepared all the delicious sides. The birthday girl picked the dessert...dirt cake...yummy! Gifts were exchanged and food was eaten! To make this day even more special, Haley lost her 5th tooth! It was one of the two front teeth. She will be getting a visit from somebody special tonight. It was a very nice day.

Easter 2009

Better late than never! I haven't been doing a good job updating our blog so my post is a tade bit late. We celebrated Easter at the Rivera's house. As usual, we had a wonderful spread with lots of food and great company. The kids all got Easter baskets overflowing with toys and candy. We finished the day with flying kites in the backyard. The weather was beautiful.

Jacob next to his basket while Logan is giving him the bunny ears...how appropriate!

It took the boys a few practice rounds, but soon the kites were flying high in the air...until it got stuck in a tree.

Just Because...

Our family blog has not been updated since Christmas so I thought it was time! We haven't had any special occasions lately plus I was without a camera for awhile. Luckily today our whole family got together and I have my camera back so it is time to blog again! My mom made a delicious meatloaf and potatoes, my sisters brought over the sides, and my grandma made the poppy seed cake so we were all set. After eating all the wonderful food and going through 2 pots of coffee, we sat around and visited while playing the wii fit. It was a good time for all. Enjoy the pictures!!
