The County Line Orchard

Today Steve, Jacob, and I went to the County Line Orchard. This was Jacob's first trip to the orchard and he slept the whole time. Our main reason for going was to pick up some gala apples and caramel dip. They are our favorite! After we did some shopping, we took some pictures and left. It was a quick trip because Jacob is obviously too little to do any of the fun activities, but we still enjoyed ourselves. We then went to Applebee's for lunch. Jacob got fussy towards the end of our meal because it was time for his "lunch."
We were thinking that the orchard shouldn't be too crowded since it was during the week. Boy were we wrong. It must of been field trip day or something!
Jacob is thinking, "Please just get me out of the sun and let me sleep!"
This was Jacob at Applebee's before he began to get fussy!

Chellburg Farm: Fall Fest 2008

Today our family went to Chellburg Farm for the annual Fall Fest and what perfect weather we had. There were many booths to visit where the kids learned about the ways of living long ago. Haley, Logan, and Kelsey had fun making corn husk dolls and playing with toys from long ago, while Jacob and Addie hung out in their strollers just taking it all in. We all got to enjoy a hay ride around a corn field. Beside the pesky bee following us, it was quite a relaxing ride! To end our nice trip, we sat in a shaded area and enjoyed ice cream and delicious corn on the cob!

Here we are enjoying our hay ride!

We had fun playing with toys that the children played with many, many years ago.

We had so much fun making dolls out of wet corn husk!

The corn on the cob was delicious. Haley and Logan wanted seconds! And as you can see, I think Addie would agree on wanting seconds of her ice cream!

Football: Let the games begin!

Jacob loves watching football on Sundays with daddy. He enjoys watching the Bears and Colts but I know he is a true Bears fan at heart. Steve is having a hard time dealing with this. :)

Making a wet situation fun!

What else is there to do when your street floods??? Why not try to make a raft to float down the "river?" Boys will be boys.

Flood of 2008

Rain, rain, go away! Here is what happens to our neighborhood when it rains for 2 days straight. I have never seen anything like this. What an experience. We were lucky enough to escape water from coming in our crawl space. Some of our neighbors weren't that fortunate.
